About the VAC
The Visual Arts Centre of Clarington (VAC) is a not-for-profit public art gallery and art education centre located in Bowmanville, ON. The organization was incorporated in 1976 to deliver contemporary art to the Clarington Community, the wider Durham Region, and beyond. Approaching 50 years in 2026, the VAC continues its history of community engagement, connecting people of all ages and backgrounds in a creative place for artmaking and learning.

The VAC prioritizes artistic production and supporting Canadian artists through commissioning new work. Our exhibition and educational programming aim to be wholly inclusive and interdisciplinary, encouraging connection, collaboration and engagement with diverse communities representing varied histories, experiences, and perspectives.
